Welcoming God’s Light – Word of the Week

Edition #16

Psalms 119:105 (NKJV)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”

The word of light to me is a word very familiar to you all, but take it for yours as I took it for mine, and you will find it as welcome as the lamp which somebody brought that night to the jailor in the prison of Philippi: “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases their strength…But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like Eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:29, 31)

Bear us on eagles’ wings,
Lord, lest we faint,
Far, far from grovelling things,
Purge from their taint.
Jesus of Calvary,
Draw us to run after Thee,
Hold us to walk with Thee,
Walk, and not faint.
